Alpha Teams

The Fixed Income business is supported by a globally resourced team of investment professionals located in London, Philadelphia, Singapore, Sydney and Bangkok.

Our active investment style is to identify relative value between individual securities, markets and currencies. We believe in fundamental, proprietary research and have organised our deep research resources into five dedicated alpha-generating teams to best exploit these areas of specialisation. These teams are:

• investment grade credit for issue selection within the investment grade non-government bond universe;
• global interest rates for country allocations, duration and yield curve positions in global government bond markets;
• currency for exchange rate positions;
• for access to sub-investment grade debt we would draw on the resources of our high yield and emerging market debt teams.

All of our products can call upon the skills of one or more of these teams, allowing for both a bottom-up and top-down investment process where appropriate.

Each team is small and dynamic, with focused decision making and clear ownership and accountability – they are not restricted by client objectives. We believe that the structure and accountability of our fixed income research function and the strong lines of communication within it give us a distinct advantage in processing information.
