Charitable activities

We encourage our employees to volunteer and fundraise for charitable projects and all permanent staff are given two days volunteer leave per annum. Staff are also able to apply for the equivalent of 100GBP match funding for all donations they raise.

The Aberdeen Charitable Foundation plays a key role in each region that our employees live and work and many of the grants donated to support local communities provide volunteering experiences for our staff.

Friday 15 May was Aberdeen’s Global Volunteering day with over 200 people from 20 cities taking part in a range of activities to coincide with the UK charity Business in the Community’s ‘Give & Gain' Day.

Twelve staff from our Kuala Lumpur office showed their skills in the kitchen by preparing a sumptuous meal for the women and children of Rumah Solehah. Rumah Solehah is a halfway house for underprivileged women, children and orphans established by the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (PPIM).

Upon arriving at Rumah Solehah, we were greeted with expectant smiles as we prepared to serve lunch followed by some light refreshments. This was followed by interaction between the children and staff members which was enjoyed by everyone involved.
